The Best Tools For The Job
by Margaret Monaghan
The further defined we are in our physical bodies, the further we are from our essence. A few years ago I was so caught up in my disastrous life creations that I had almost completely obscured my connection to my higher self. I had moments of connection through various spiritual practices, but it took very little to plunge into my creations.
I was on the stress treadmill BIG TIME. Stress created illness, and illness increased stress. I became so unwell I could no longer do my job. I hung in there until I collapsed because of a set of unhelpful beliefs about work ethic.
I felt so little connection with anything other than my situation I became a helpless, hopeless blob.
Then someone introduced me to Avatar. I figured it may help with my mental state even though several specialists had written me off as incurable and simply prescribed bucketloads of painkillers. So I had no expectations of a cure for my physical condition.
Then as part of the ReSurfacing Workshop weekend (Section I of Avatar), I was introduced to an exercise that in ten minutes allowed me to see the beliefs underlying my condition and the resistance I had toward having it. And yes, folks, it was cured. Not snake oil or magic, just a simple exercise that let me connect with the greater part of self that was creating it.
Avatar is a simple set of tools delivered in a specific way in order to empower you to unlock your resistance and to release yourself from debilitating beliefs. We are all very powerful creators and as such we can decide whether we create chaos or the life we would prefer.
So now I have turned all that creative energy toward my new life, filled with endless opportunity. It is my privilege to be an Avatar Master supporting others on their discovery tour with these wonderful tools.
And having the best tools for the job can mean the difference between a quality structure that can stand the test of time and a lifetime of repair and maintenance work.
When I got my first full time job, I decided that part of setting myself up as a young independent woman was to purchase some good quality tools. This set me apart from my peers who were more concerned with the coolest clothes or trendiest perfume I was prepared to spend whatever it took to acquire a complete homemakers set of high quality, long-lasting equipment. Luckily my brother was in the trade, so by the end of the year I had a new Sidcrome spanner set, Makita drill, circular saw, jig saw, best quality hand saw, and a damn good hammer.
I have purchased other tools over the years, and they sit in piles in my shed. But those original tools, the best quality for which I happily paid a relatively high price, are well used and in excellent condition.
This is because I see the value in having the best tool for the job. Avatar is like that. I have explored many philosophies and methods of managing my life, but most offer either a quick fix, patch-up job or lengthy, punishing routines like using a rusty hand saw instead of the power saw.
With Avatar I have the best technology available, with me at all times. Using the tools to manage my life is easy and often fun. Thats why it works!
