A Note From The Publisher:

How do you get to Boston from New York when you're in Chicago?

Call this the "koan of success."

No matter how many bus schedules or airline schedules you have, no matter how many departures there are from New York to Boston, no matter how familiar you are with New York traffic, JFK airport or discount tickets, you can't get from New York to Boston when you're in Chicago.

All your technical expertise will fail -- not because it is bad technology, not because your skill of application is poor, but because you are in Chicago!

Do this: place the heel of your right hand on your forehead and go, "Oh hey! I'm in Chicago!"

Now you can get to Boston.

Where you are, what you are, these are important to know if you wish to practice the art of living deliberately.

This is where Avatar begins.
