I grew up in what is now referred to as the War Years. This was post World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the ever present Cold War. With each war there was a new enemy to fight, and this was paralleled in the weekly comic strips I read as a child. I saw the face of the enemy change through the years, but the feelings were the samefear, loss, sorrow and helplessness. It didnt feel good. I was quite certain, even at that young age, that this was not the kind of world I wanted to live in. I knew it could be different and I promised myself I would help to change it...somehow.
At a gathering one night I was singing with some friends, and one line in a particular song resonated throughout my beingness. Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me. In that moment I had a realization that this was the way world peace would come abouteach one of us changing ourself which would then change the totality.
I followed many paths through the years and all assisted me in making some improvements, but there were some things, some feelings, some experiences that didnt go away. That changed in 1989 when I took The Avatar Course. After completing the course, I was able to deliberately put attention on a specific idea, identity, or fear and eliminate it right then and there. I could feel the empty space where it had been.
I could feel myself changing, and I knew it was having an effect on the collective consciousness. Later, I found evidence when I attended The Wizard Course. I was sitting and observing the people in the room with me. A feeling of total love and peace had enveloped me as I looked around the room. The person on my right was from Israel, the one on my left from Turkey, five Buddhist monks were at the next table and then walking toward me, arms around each other, smiling, radiating, waving at me, were Masters from France, Japan, Australia, Germany, Holland and the USA. I smiled back. I could feel the Oneness.
Tears of joy came when I felt the love of what we weredeliberate beings at one with the mission of Avatar.
We were contributing to the creation of an enlightened planetary civilization and it showed. I then realized my life had a higher purpose, and I did make a differencewe all did. The motto of the sixties, Make Love, not War was happening, and I acknowledged the fulfillment of the promise to myself years ago.
If you would like to take your walls down and move forward into a world filled with love, peace and acceptance of all, you might want to consider Avatar. Its a gentle way to create change.
