A Person Of Value

by Melinda Carroll

The other day I came across a quote from Albert Einstein that read, Try not to become a person of success, but rather a person of value. Although it was the first thing in the morning and I was easing into the day, I sat up straight upon reading these words from the genius of our time. What was the difference in these concepts so noted by this mind of brilliance?

Then I remembered another quote from the movie, “Places in the Heart” which said, Between what matters and seems to matter, how can the world as we know it judge wisely? Further contemplation recalled my own ideas of success and failure—but by whose or what standards did I accept these labels? When I thought about it, I realized that success or lack of it was a weakening, external judgment for the most part.

Where did value come in? I thought about when I was really happy and when I felt complete. If a word had to be placed on that experience, it could be value. I recalled Avatar processes that put me in touch with that place of wholeness, that plateau of self-empowerment and reality where there is no judgment, no need to validate one’s self. This is the realm of our beginning before the seeds of comparisons and measurements. No wonder we stand in awe of little children!

In the first spinning place of childhood there is no apology, no uncertainty, no false pride. The special human qualities born into them so clear and unsullied lay open to the shining world before them. And they, like awakened wanderers, endlessly explore creation honoring each accomplishment with delight. They feel their value.

When we live out of wholeness we are valuable to ourselves and to the world, for you can’t give anything you don’t have. The Avatar procedures, so profound in elegant simplicity, have restored this reality to me and to my family, five of whom are Avatar Masters. It seems that Albert Einstein was tuned into these truths as well. This must have been the source of his beguiling cherubic smile.
