Actions Aligned With The Creation Of
An Enlightened Planetary Civilization

Feel free to copy this list and circulate it widely

Creating an enlightened planetary civilization is an ambitious task. But then so was painting the Sistine Chapel or erecting the Empire State Building. Yet they were both accomplished, and in the case of the Empire State Building, in record time. We can take a lesson from history and bring about an enlightened civilization in the same manner. Not with broad strokes of a brush or huge prefabricated building materials, but with detailed touches of color and one brick at a time.

By practicing the steps below you can help to create an enlightened planetary civilization—maybe in record time.

• Create international pen/fax/computer pals (with translation services or as part of a language class) for students in secondary schools from all countries. Use socially aware prompting questions to initiate the interchanges. EXAMPLE: “Sometimes I worry about the future and wonder if anything can be done about...”

• Create multi-media study modules to teach manners as practiced in various parts of the world and explore different cultures’ procedures for making introductions.

• Educate people to spend their money the same way they would cast their votes.

• Replace anti-drug propaganda and pro-drug propaganda with truthful educational programs about the effects of drug use. Include tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine.

• Support the concept of doing amends to right wrongs instead of incarceration, especially for non-violent crimes.

• Create a forum (brain trust) for ideas and projects to make a better world.

• Use media and the arts to correct the misconception that things can make you happy. Volunteer in a hospice or hospital.

• Support environmental clean-up, recycling and reclamation projects that employ able-bodied welfare recipients and/or incarcerated prisoners.

• Support educational programs and materials that teach study skills (responsibility) and that explore belief systems rather than present them as truth or indoctrinations.

• Create in-house seminars or multi-media study modules to teach cooperation skills and compassion skills to children and adults.

• Create youth programs that offer intercultural work and living exchanges.

• Support a national tax incentive program that allows deductions to individuals who can pass a proficiency exam in speaking a second language.

• Create study programs that explore the concept of responsibility.

• Develop a protocol that allows group leaders to cooperate and exchange ideas that circumvent individual ego and assertions of rightness.

• Conduct objective studies to determine what effect, if any, that aligned group meditations have on action and events.

• Create peace pilgrimages to troubled areas.

• Encourage and financially support books, plays, scripts, articles that raise people’s awareness as well as entertain.

• Learn “hello,” “friend” and “thank you” in as many foreign languages as you can.

• Support government grants for the arts only for works that set forth responsible themes, i.e., forgiveness, tolerance, increased awareness, compassion.

• Create a UN managed international adoption agency.

• Validate celebrities who use their fame to promote good works.

• Create neighborhood groups to share information, services and make co-op purchases.

• Create a non-biased company that rates the effective use of donations by charitable organizations to alleviate human suffering.

• Validate media that run good news stories (notify companies that sponsor such programs that you support them and make them successful by buying their products).

• Hold up as exemplary any act of love, kindness or selflessness.

• Encourage TV stations to run public service messages that teach key phrases and words in foreign languages (could also be included in all media advertisements, bubble gum papers, etc.).

• Support legislation that requires a certain minimal amount of recycled material in new products.
